Welcome!The association of Estonian foster families was founded on the 18th of october 2003 with a goal to represent foster families through various institutions and to protect their rights. The board consists of 7 members, all the members are or have been in a foster family. Today, there are 11 member organizations throughout Estonia. Last 5 years the majority of our activities have been project based. Our projects are being financed mainly by Hasartmängumaksu Nõukogu but we have received support from various individuals and companies to carry out our activities. The most popular has become the summer school of foster families which takes place in Hiiumaa. There are usually around 150 participants of which 2/3 are children of various ages.Very important are tutors who work in various counties and support foster families if problems arise and are always there to solve problems and protect the interests of foster families. We are also working on creating a foundation to support higher educating for the children of foster families - Estonian Foster Family Foundation. |
